Your bargaining team has presented a new comprehensive offer to the company Friday that would protect wages and benefits while helping The Canadian Press move forward. It is a balanced approach that is realistic, fair and provides stability for the company, employees and CP clients.
Our offer involves no wage or vacation rollbacks and includes improved conditions for part-timers and salary increases for all employees in a multi-year contract. It recognizes the financial pressure facing The Canadian Press with a proposal to restructure how the company pays back our pension money. The proposal would also see employees pay more of the cost of some benefits.
We will keep you up to date on further developments as and when the company responds to our offer.
