Dear members,
We’re pleased to invite you to two upcoming CMG events for Freelancers.

For members in the GTA, our second Freelance Fridays! workshop will take place this Friday afternoon. Here are the details:

The 519 Church St. Community Centre
519 Church St. Toronto – Room 100 East Room North
TTC Stop: Wellesley Station
This venue and event are fully accessible.
RSVP your attendance to: datejie@cmg.ca

Participants are welcome to bring sample contracts and clauses to this hands-on workshop. The cost is free for CMG Freelance members and $20 for non-members. (Non-members interested in our new Freelance Union Membership may count the $20 against the $150 annual dues, if you choose to join within 60 days). For more info go to: cmgfreelance.ca.

CMG CONVENTION – MAY 23-25 – Toronto
CMG Freelance is inviting active members to join the group of delegates attending the CMG Convention in Toronto this year, May 23-25. We have three delegate positions that will be selected through an application process. We’re especially interested in applications from our newest, non-CBC freelancers. Travel, accommodation and per diems are all covered by the Guild for any delegates attending from outside the GTA. The convention is an exciting way to be introduced to not only CMG Freelance via a caucus meeting and workshop, but the workings of the CMG on the whole at a time when media workers need more representation than ever.

If you’d like to take part, please email Branch president Don Genova at freelance@cmg.ca.

Deadline for delegate applications is Tuesday, March 11.

We look forward to hearing from you and hope to see you there!

In solidarity,

Don Genova,
President, CMG Freelance
