Our current agreement with PMNA expires on December 31, and two additional members of our bargaining unit are needed to form the bargaining committee to negotiate a new collective agreement with the company – The CMG President at PMNA, Anna Maxymiw, is automatically on the bargaining committee, which also includes CMG staff representatives Olivier Roy and Karen Wirsig.
Bargaining committee members
You do not need prior negotiation experience but participants on the bargaining committee are expected to spend time and effort with co-workers identifying workplace issues and proposing solutions.
All kinds of skills and abilities are helpful on the committee, including research, proposal development, negotiation and communications with fellow CMG members. It’s also helpful to have members from different workplace areas. Bargaining committee members are released from work on days the team prepares for bargaining and when negotiations with management take place.
A wider team of bargaining unit members
In addition to the bargaining committee, a broader team of CMG members will need to meet with committee members to talk about what our union wants done at the bargaining table. From this group, the executive may also select an alternate to sub for a bargaining committee member as needed.

The deadline is Friday, September 22.
The union executive will select the bargaining committee, and then launch a general survey to find out members’ bargaining priorities.
