First, it was great to see the big turnout at our recent membership meetings, and it was useful to share ideas and views on ways to move forward.
A strong majority of votes in the bargaining survey were in favour of continuing to bargain, and there is 95 % approval for a continued focus on fairness in wages and an appropriate length of contract.
Our conversations at the membership meetings will help our work towards getting a fair agreement. We’ll now have a bargaining team meeting to work on next steps.
Please watch for updates and information about more opportunities to participate.
If you have not yet responded to the survey, please talk to any one of us to get the form.
The next bargaining dates with Corus management are set for October 30 and 31.
Feel free to get in touch with questions and input. We will need to keep pulling together to get the best negotiated agreement possible.
