Our committee works to involve more members in the union, to address human rights and equity issues in our workplaces and the union and to defend the interests of all Guild members. The committee also includes members from the Guild’s parent union, CWA/SCA Canada.

 

Michael D'Souza (chair)

Michael is the CMG’s Director of Human Rights and Equity. He fills the same role at the CBC Branch of the CMG. Michael is also a member of the Executive of CWA/SCA Canada, the parent union of the CMG. He can be reached at dsouzam@sympatico.ca

Chuck Haskins

Chuck works at CBC in Sudbury.

Ing Wong-Ward

Ing has worked throughout the CBC for the past sixteen years, in both radio and television. She is currently a producer for CBC Toronto's afternoon radio show, "Here and Now." Ing became active in equity issues as a teenager, and has spent considerable time fighting for the rights of people with disabilities. She has sat on the Board of Directors for the Centre for Independent Living in Toronto, and speaks frequently to various organizations about media and disability. In 2004, she won the City of Toronto's Access Award.

Sandra works at CBC in Regina.

 

Kerry Benjoe

Kerry works at the Regina Leader Post.

 

Turk Chan

Turk is the co-founder of BritishHongKong, a human rights organisation registered in Scotland. He is also on the CMG's National Grievance Committee. He works for CBC North.

 

Shireen Cuthbert

Shireen works at CBC in Toronto.

John Gibson John Gibson: has worked at CBC in Calgary since 2000. He was a producer at Newsworld until 2008, and is now with local TV news.  Before John trained as a journalist he studied political science, and returned to that field to do a master's degree in Australia in 2005. He's have always been interested in social justice issues, especially the politics of (in)equality. He says he has a personal stake as a gay man.

Ka Yan Ng

Ka Yan is the president of the Guild's Thompson Reuters branch. She works at Reuters in Toronto.

 

Monique Polloni

Monique works at Radio-Canada in Vancouver.

Vince Proteau

Vincent Proteau is the Secretary/Treasurer and
Webmaster for the Guild's aptn Branch.  Vincent also serves on the TNG-CWA Human Rights & Equity Committee, and is their Webmaster.  Vincent is Métis, of Cree and French Ancestry, and works as an Audio Engineer and Graphics Designer in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Shameda works at CBC in Toronto.

Edwin Terry

Edwin is the director of diversity of the Guild's Toronto location unit at CBC.

 

Mary Wong

Mary works at CBC in Toronto.

Terri Monture CMG Staff Rep
