The Canadian Media Guild’s Toronto local executive committee officially opened its 2nd Pride Week LGBT Short Film Festival with free popcorn coffee and pop. The Festival runs during Toronto’s Pride Week from Monday June 24 to Saturday June 29, 2013.
The festival features 11 excellent LGBT-themed short films from recent years, including some award winners. Ryan Bruce Levey the director of ‘The Closest Thing To Heaven’, Mark Pariselli the director of ‘Kiss’ and Jonathan Nathaniel, an actor and producer in “Shawn” attended Monday’s opening of the festival.
The diverse, 97-minute program will play continuously on a DVD loop in the Graham Spry Theatre at the CBC Broadcast Centre from 9 am until 9 pm from Monday to Friday (with an extra screening on Saturday June 29 from 12 pm to 5 pm. Admission is free. Many of the films are less that 15 minutes long so members can take their break and watch a film for free.
