Is the government review of CBC’s budget a state secret?
By  CMG  •  Posted on  September 1, 2009

Last spring, I requested the document(s) that the Treasury Board sent to CBC brass demanding their participation in a “strategic review” of their budget priorities.

Three months later, I have nothing. That fact, and the reason for the delay, make me uneasy about this budget exercise.

It might be all well and good when the government reviews how its various departments manage human resources, decides to centralize the functions and frees up $250 million to spend on other priorities (the example the government gives in its backgrounder about the budget reviews).

But CBC is not a government department. It’s not a government or state broadcaster
