NAB Show 2014 – a showcase for new technology in the broadcast industry

Attending NAB show 2014 was a great opportunity and experience for me. I am thankful to CMG for sending me there. As the world’s largest electronic media show covering filmed entertainment and the development, management and delivery of content across all mediums, NAB Show is an invaluable event for a technical person like me. I was able to learn about a lot of new technologies for the broadcast industry.

This year’s NAB Show ran from April 7-10 and featured sessions, workshops and panels on the increasing role of ultra high-definition standards for 4K television displays and production technology in the media and entertainment industry.

NAB reported total registered attendance for the 2014 NAB Show was 98,015, an uptick of more than four percent from 2013. Exhibit space was also up more than seven percent from the previous year, with the event comprising 1,746 exhibiting companies spanning 945,000 net square feet of exhibit space.

Attending the exhibits and presentation from different companies proved four days is not enough to cover everything. Still, I recommend NAB Show for my colleagues in the broadcast sector.
