Your union needs you! Apply for CBC branch committee roles

Get involved on the National Joint Committee and the Consultative Committee on Staff Benefits (each seeking to fill one vacancy) of CMG at CBC. Committee members get paid time off from work to attend joint meetings with management, and travel costs for members outside Toronto are covered.

Here is a short description of the committees on which members are needed:

National Joint Committee – This committee an avenue for strategic discussion on matters that affect CMG members at CBC and for the timely exchange of information on workplace issues. This committee plays a leading role in maintaining the union/management relationship. Much of the work happens by conference call; sometimes there are in-person meetings, usually held in Toronto.

Consultative Committee on Staff Benefits – The (CCSB) is comprised of representatives from all Unions (CBC/SRC), the Pensioners Association, non-represented (confidential) employees and management. It oversees CBC’s supplementary health care plan (SHCP) (prescription drugs, hospital, eye care, etc), including the Group RRSP, Insurance plans, health related leaves (LTD) and gratuities. There are 4 in person meetings per year in Ottawa and conference calls when required.

The deadline for applications is 8 p.m. ET Friday, January 29.

CMG executive at CBC will make the final selection of members of each committee, based on the content of the applications. Please submit a separate application for each committee you would like to join using our online form

If you are not selected for a committee at this time, your application will be kept on file for future vacancies and sub-committee work. Your union needs you! Thanks to all who participate in CMG committees.
